The dragonflies woman
Acrylic/collage on canvas
110 x 140 cm
The ascending dragonflies indicate the reading movement, from bottom to top. They represent the flight towards liberation and the attainment of one’s own true nature. The two golden walls on each side of the girl symbolize the creation of solid structures in the artist’s life (they begin halfway through the painting, which means in the man’s half-life).
The character holds back the dragonflies, but his hands become translucent, almost already invisible: the flight will take place despite his inner enemy and the obstacles of life, these archaic Monsters which prevent any form of emancipation.
